19/08/09 - The Radio National "Australia Talks" program will host a discussion on the management of bushfires in Australia tomorrow night (Thursday August 20th 2009) between 6pm and 7.30pm.
Australia Talks is a nationally broadcast program that involves an in depth discussion on one topic with several invited guests and talkback calls.
One of the guests on Thursday night will be Gary Hughes, a survivor of the Black Saturday bushfires who lost his home and narrowly escaped with his life.
24/07/09 - Kinglake West resident Mark Dawson has a Mobile Firewood Processor for Hire. It is capable of processing large logs into split firewood. The process will produce approximately 10m3 (a truck load) of split firewood per hour.
He is interested in taking unwanted logs off sites.

The Rural Women's Network, an initiative of the Victorian Department of Planning and Community Development, is looking for inspiring, empowering and informative stories of beyond the bushfires from a woman's perspective.
Deadline for submissions is Wednesday 15th July, 2009

"I am looking for a contact number to do some patchwork quilting. There used to be a class on a Tuesday night or on a Saturday. Do these classes still exist?
< I am also looking for Sally that lives behind the General Store. Someone could give her my email address."
< 02/06/09 - Have a look at Oz Comfort Quilts page on blogspot.com. Quilts have been donated by quilters both in Victoria, interstate and overseas to help bring some comfort to those affected by the tragic bushfires.

16/4/09 - A retired couple in Glen Iris are donating a variety of items to a worthy cause including: timber fencing, picket fencing, large terracotta pots, garden equipment, large television set (with manual and remote), video player, videos, CD's, brand new queen size doona cover. Everything in perfect condition.

"My name is Erin Prosser, I stayed in Flowerdale as a small child with a family whilst i was in foster care through the years of 1995 1996 so I have memories of the area.
"I can't remeber the name of the family I stayed with, they were a couple it was just them I'm not sure if they had older children or not Ii can't even remember the address. They lived in a house that backed on to a creek and the front windows were on a slant.
"I'm concerned for their wellbeing after the bushfire and would like to get in contact with them so if there is any one who knows this family could the contact me - i would like to help them in their hour of need just like they helped me."
